About Madyson Schmidt
Madyson joined Bruni Law as an articling student in June 2021. She was called to the Alberta Bar in July 2022. Prior to law school, she completed a Bachelor of Business Administration majoring in Human Resources at Mount Royal University. She completed her first year of law school at Western University where she volunteered at a legal clinic that worked with low income clients through Pro Bono Students’ Society; acted as the VP Internal for Level, an organization that focuses on access to justice; and was a representative on the Labour and Employment Law Society. She then transferred to the University of Calgary to complete her law degree in the city where she wanted to live and work. She continued to volunteer with Pro Bono Students’ Society and took on the role of Fundraising Co-Lead for the organization Law Needs Feminism Because.
Madyson’s practice includes working with clients to help them obtain guardianship or trusteeship for a loved one that no longer has the capacity to make their own decisions. She also has experience preparing examinations of trusteeship accounts.
Madyson works diligently with clients to assist them with estate planning, including the preparation of wills, personal directives and powers of attorney. She also practices in the area of residential real estate.
Madyson has lived in or near Calgary for almost her entire life and is committed to the community here. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with family, reading novels, and getting outside with her goldendoodle River.
